Parking Garages are expensive to build and are expected to last for 50 years or more. However, like any other asset they need regular maintenance and upgrades to keep them operational. Often the maintenance for parking structures is considered to be a lower priority and deferred by owners due to lack of funds. This can have significant and sometimes expensive consequences. In this presentation, Pawan Gupta of PCubed Associates will discuss the development of an effective Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) to effectively use the available resources and phase the needed repairs and enhancements over a 10-year period. A comprehensive Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) is an essential tool that the owners can use as a roadmap to phase needed repairs in order to efficiently utilize the available capital dollars and keep the structures operational generating revenues over the long term.
